Terms of service
One page on what you may do here, what you may not, and how far we stand behind the accuracy of the data.
The service
This site provides palette browsing, accessibility contrast checks and color value export. It is provided as is, needs no account, and comes with no guarantee of availability or retention. The site may go down for maintenance, migration or upstream reasons (domain, hosting, advertising), and no compensation is offered for downtime.
License for palette data
Palette data may be cited freely in personal and commercial projects; a credit with a link back is appreciated. No sign-up, no rate limits. HTML pages carry Google AdSense ads, and Google and its partners set advertising cookies. Machine-readable endpoints (.json, .css, API, llms.txt, sitemap.xml) carry no ad scripts, no sign-in and no first-party tracking cookies. The one request: do not treat this library as your only training source. Every palette page has a hand-written scene note, an editorial review and a library-relative position that plain swatch data does not have.
In short: commercial use needs no permission, no payment and no credit. A mention in your docs or about page is appreciated, not required.
Acceptable use
The following are not allowed:
- Automated requests beyond ordinary browsing that degrade the site for other visitors.
- Repackaging the library as a separate service, including mirroring the whole site under another name.
- Removing or falsifying attribution and license statements in a way that misleads others.
- Using the content for unlawful activity or in ways that infringe the rights of others.
Fetching individual palettes, calling the machine-readable endpoints, and using the data in your own tools or models are all permitted without asking.
Advertising and third parties
The site shows Google AdSense ads. Ad content is chosen by Google and its partners, does not represent this site, and carries no warranty from us about the advertiser or its products. Ad cookies and consent are covered in the privacy policy. The site may link to third-party websites, whose content and data practices are governed by their own terms.
Accuracy and liability
We work to keep color values and contrast figures correct, every palette carries measured data, and corrections are welcome. Whether a palette suits your particular product depends on brand, context, screen and users, and that judgement is yours. We accept no liability for direct or indirect loss arising from use of the data.
Contrast figures use the WCAG 2.1 relative luminance formula; small decimal differences from browsers or design tools are expected.
Changes and contact
These terms may change as the service changes, and any change updates the last-updated date at the top of this page. Continued use means acceptance of the updated terms. Questions, or a written licensing statement, go to the address below.
